ABout Me

I am an Indigenous Palestinian and Lebanese cis hetero woman and immigrant to the United States. Raised by displaced immigrant parents, the intergenerational trauma of war, displacement and poverty was never lacking. These experiences and memories impacted who I am and continue to shape my view of the world. From a very young age, I have always had a passion to bring a voice to the voiceless. Given my identity, I experienced judgment, racism and misunderstanding, and I learned to hide who I was out of fear of retaliation, and rejection.

Having worked in the mental health field for over 2 decades, I realized that my style was unique, in that I always aimed for a more transparent and authentic approach. Working in the home with families, allowed me to witness their relationships in their own environment and enriched my perspective and understanding of how unique each family is. As a solo parent my passion for supporting other solo and/or co-parents and children experiencing parental separation has intensified. The amount of judgment and isolation we feel as solo parents is deafening. And as a lifelong learner, being a therapist requires (un)learning, (re)learning, and I am actively engaged in my own personal growth (challenging biases, fragility, limitations and power and privilege).

My Approach

My biggest priority in therapy is to provide a safe space for you to speak freely and share your stories, identities and lived experiences. I love working with others who have felt like outsiders, especially BIPOC, solo parent, immigrant, LGBTQIA2S+ communities. If you speak Arabic, Spanish, and Spanglish, you are welcome!
